What we promise, and what we do not

We take measures to protect the privacy of all. We do not guarantee the privacy of all.

Security controls reduce risk; they do not eliminate it. No service can promise that data will never be exposed by a breach, a third party, a legal demand, or another member repeating something you shared. Share accordingly.

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how readerxo handles personal information when you use our websites, applications, reading and listening experiences, video features, author tools, clubs, commerce features, and related services (the “Services”).

This policy does not cover third-party services that publish their own privacy notices.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created through your use of the Services, and technical information needed to operate and secure readerxo.

  • Account and profile information such as name, email address, username, biography, image, and preferences.
  • Works, uploads, posts, comments, reviews, messages, club activity, saved items, progress, and support requests.
  • Purchase, subscription, cancellation, and payout records. Payment providers process full payment-card details.
  • Device and usage information such as browser type, IP address, pages viewed, interactions, and diagnostic logs.
  • Information you authorize connected services or sign-in providers to share with us.

How we use information

We use information to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Services; secure accounts and enforce permissions; process transactions and payouts; deliver works and remember progress; operate profiles, clubs, messaging, and support; detect fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

How information is disclosed

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information:

  • To providers supporting hosting, analytics, communications, security, payments, and customer service under appropriate obligations.
  • To authors, club hosts, or users when your actions intentionally make information visible to them.
  • To comply with law or valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of readerxo.
  • In connection with a financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • At your direction or with your consent.

Retention and security

We retain information as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain transaction and compliance records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect readerxo. Retention varies by record type and legal obligation.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure; use a unique password and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Update available profile and account details through account settings.
  • Manage communications through message controls or account preferences.
  • Request account or personal-data deletion through Support. Records required for legal, payment, security, or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained.
  • Submit a privacy request through Support. We may verify your identity before completing it.

International use, age, and changes

Information may be processed across borders where our systems and providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Services.

We may update this policy as the Services or applicable requirements change. We will communicate material changes and update the effective date.
